What is the cost?

The registration fee is $100 per player (includes a team and individual player picture packet) and is due at registration - if you choose to pay by check or money order you can send that to LPS Registration, 1841 4th Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95818 or drop the check off at one of our Document Collection Nights but please remember that your registration will not be considered complete until the registration fee is received.

We also have a scholarship program for financially needy players - if you are interested in that please send an email to landparksoccer@gmail.com.

Each player also needs a Land Park Soccer uniform which you can purchase at Kombat Soccer in South Land Park for $25 (jersey, shorts, and socks). You can reuse the uniform multiple years. The uniform just needs to be acquired before the first game in early September.

Is there a discount for those who register early?

All players with complete registration registered before 5/28 will be considered "on-time registrants" and pay just the $100 registration fee. Late registrants (those who complete registration on or after 5/28) must pay a late fee of $25 in addition to the registration fee.

Is there a sibling discount?

No. Land Park Soccer Club is an all-volunteer organization with one of the lowest registration fees in the area. We work hard to keep fees low and cannot offer sibling discounts at this time.  We have a scholarship program for financially needy players - if you are interested in that please send an email to landparksoccer@gmail.com.

My child is a returning player to Land Park Soccer Club, do I need to provide a birth certificate?

Yes, all LPS players will need to provide a copy of their birth certificate to complete registration. You can upload a scanned copy of the birth certificate with the online registration, email a copy to landparksoccer@gmail.com, mail a copy to LPS Registration, 1841 4th Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95818 or drop off a copy at one of our two Document Collection Nights (May 21 and May 27th at Cal Middle School 6:30-8:30pm).

Hospital-issued birth certificates are not accepted by the Sacramento Youth Soccer League. The birth certificate must be county-issued.

My child is a returning player to Land Park Soccer Club, do I need to provide a new photo?

Yes, all LPS players will need to provide a recent photo of the player’s face to complete registration. You can upload a photo with the online registration, email a copy to landparksoccer@gmail.com, mail a copy to LPS Registration, 1841 4th Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95818 or drop off a copy at one of our two Document Collection Nights (May 21 and May 27th at Cal Middle School 6:30-8:30pm).

Player photos can be in color or black-and-white. The player may not be wearing sunglasses or hats. The player’s face should cover approximately 80% of the photo. The photo can be any size and can be cropped using the online registration tool.

I registered online last year, can I use the same username and password to register this year?

No. The Sacramento Youth Soccer League required all Clubs to move to a new registration system this year. All returning players, coaches, and parents have been transferred to the new registration system but you will need to create a new username and password. To do this you must click “Forgot UserName/Password” from the Registration screen and use the email they send to you to set up a new username and password. If you no longer have the same email address you used last year or you have trouble following this process for any reason, please call the Affinity Sports Tech Support help line at 877-700-1470.

If any of the players you are registering are returning – please do NOT create a new account. Please follow the steps above to set up a new username and password for your old account.

I am having trouble with the online registration system – what should I do?

Please call Affinity Sports Tech Support help line at 877-700-1470.

After I complete the online registration what do I need to do?

If you attached all of the following items during the online registration, your registration is complete and you do not need to do anything else!

If you did not attach any of the following to your online registration, please send the missing item in in to complete your registration:

  • Photo of the player’s face
  • County Issued Birth Certificate for each player
  • Payment

Please send any items you did not provide during online registration to LPS Registration, 1841 4th Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95818 or bring it to one of our Document Collection Nights (May 21 and May 27th at Cal Middle School 6:30-8:30pm). Your registration is NOT complete until these items are received.

Are the teams co-ed or gender-pure?

The Under 6 age bracket is co-ed and most teams are pretty evenly mixed. Player selection is up to the coach so a team may be gender-pure in this age bracket but most teams are mixed. All other age brackets are gender-pure.

Will my child be grouped with teammates of the same age?

Our priority with team formation is for teams to be "age pure." This means that within each age group we form first-year and second-year teams where all players on the team have birthdays in the same "soccer year." For example, a first-year U10 team will have players who were born between August 1, 2005 and July 31, 2006, and a second-year U10 team will have players who were born between August 1, 2004 and July 31, 2005. However, depending on the number of players who register in each age group, there are times when we have to place first-year players on second-year teams and vice versa.

Can my child play in a higher age group?

While we generally discourage playing in a higher age group (known as "playing up"), it may be appropriate for some players. Requests to play up will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. The club reserves the right to refuse such requests if we do not feel that it would be in the best interest of the player. In no case can a player play up more than one age group.

Can my child play in a lower age group?

No. Playing down is not permitted.

Is there a team placement priority for those who register early?

All players registered before 5/28 will be considered "on-time registrants" and placed on teams at the same time so there is no order of priority among on-time registrants. Late registrants are not guaranteed a spot so we highly encourage you to register during the on-time registration period (before 5/28).

Why can you not guarantee that my child will be placed on the team we request?

We do our best to honor requests, but it is not always possible due to roster size limitations, age restrictions, and other factors. For example, at U10 rosters are capped at 13 players. If more than 13 players request a particular U10 team, the coach will not be able to take them all. In addition, players who were on a team last season who register during the regular registration period have priority to return to that team. Only after accommodating all returning players can a coach accept new players. Please be aware that not getting the team, coach, or teammates that you request does not entitle you to a refund. Any player who we are able to place on any team is subject to our standard refund policy.

I am registering my child late, but he is a returning player. Is he still guaranteed a spot on his team from last season?

No. Only returning players who complete registration during the regular registration period are guaranteed a spot on their team from last season. Players who complete registration late (after May 27) are placed on a waiting list and will be placed on teams only after all players in the same age group who completed egisterration by May 27 have been accommodated.

When will we be notified about team placement?

Coaches may begin to contact players as early as June 1 and must notify all players of their team placement by June 30.

When are practices?

Practices begin around August 1. Most teams practice twice a week, on either Mondays/Wednesdays or Tuesdays/Thursdays. Practices will be between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Younger teams usually practice for an hour at a time; older teams often practice longer. Your coach will inform you of your practice schedule when he or she calls to notify you about your team placement. We do not assign practice times until after teams are formed, so we cannot accommodate requests for a particular practice schedule or location.

What equipment will my player need?

Your player will need a league uniform, soccer cleats, shin guards, a soccer ball, and a water bottle. The league uniform is sold only by our approved vendor but may be worn more than one season. (Please see the LPS website for more information on league uniforms.) When you purchase a ball, be sure to get the correct size. U6 and U8 players use a Size 3, U10 and U12 players use a Size 4, and U14 and up players use a Size 5.

What is your refund policy?

Standard registration fees will be refunded based on the following schedule:
Requests made before July 15:             Full refund
Requests made July 15-August 15:      50% refund
Requests made after August 15:          No refund

All refund checks will be mailed the second week in September. The above refund schedule applies to any player who we are able to place on any team, regardless of whether it is the team, coach, or teammates that were requested. Any player who we are not able to place on a team will automatically receive a full refund. All refund requests must be made by the player’s parent or guardian via e-mail to landparksoccer@gmail.com.
